Tula presents at 2016 Global Digital Health Forum

I attended the 2016 Global Digital Health Forum this week and had an opportunity to share some our work in Guatemala as part of a Going Digital at the Frontlines panel. It was great to meet with other organizations also using digital tools to help improve healthcare in developing countries.
I attend the conference every other year or so, and previously shared some thoughts after attending in 2014.
While much of the focus in previous years seemed to be on scaling up, I noticed several differences this year. The focus areas this year included:
- Ensuring long term sustainability of scaled up programs
- Developing and leveraging appropriate key partnerships
- Making health data useful and used
- User-centered design
While we are imperfect in all of these areas, we are certainly heading in the right direction thanks to the great work of our many Canadian and Guatemalan partners.
